Amps to Volts Calculator
Convert electric current in Amps (A) to voltage in Volts (V) using Power (Watts) or Resistance (Ohms).
A
W
How to Convert Amps to Volts
To calculate voltage from current, you need to know either the Power (Watts) or the Resistance (Ohms) of the circuit.
Using Resistance (Ohm's Law)
According to Ohm's Law, voltage is equal to current multiplied by resistance.
V(V) = I(A) × R(Ω)
Using Power (Watts)
If you know the power consumption, the formula depends on the current type.
DC Circuits
V(V) = P(W) / I(A)
AC Single Phase
V(V) = P(W) / (I(A) × PF)
Calculation Examples
Example 1 (Ohm's Law): Current is 5 Amps and Resistance is 10 Ohms.
V = 5 A × 10 Ω = 50 Volts
Example 2 (Power): Power is 1000 Watts and Current is 10 Amps (DC).
V = 1000 W / 10 A = 100 Volts
